Standard Meat Company adds Heather Irby as Director of Human Resources

Ben Rosenthal, co-president and CEO of Standard Meat Company, a Dallas-Fort Worth based meat distribution company, today announced the addition of a new Director of Human Resources - Heather Irby - to the company’s leadership team.

Standard Meat is a family-owned meat processing and packaging company with plants in Dallas and Saginaw. As industry leaders in quality and innovation, the company is a global supplier of custom meat portioning and packaging solutions for the food service and retail industries. Standard Meat is constantly growing their highly skilled workforce of over 700 employees, creating an opportunity for a human resources director to ensure the best policies and practices are being implemented to uphold company and customer standards.

“As Standard Meat continues to grow and evolve, it’s critical that our staff processes do as well,” said Mr. Rosenthal. “We are looking forward to moving to the next level with Heather at the helm of our human resources function.”

As Director of Human Resources, Ms. Irby will focus on the administrative aspects of company internal growth and performance, leading the daily management and operations of Standard Meat’s HR programs including compensation, benefits, recruitment, and training and development. She will also help to ensure legal compliance and implementation of Standard Meat’s mission and talent strategy.

As part of senior leadership, Ms. Irby will define HR needs to support Standard Meat’s 5-year strategic growth plan, design new and improved measures for performance evaluations, and collaborate with other members of leadership to ensure the company’s ongoing and future success across all facilities and within individual departments.

Prior to joining Standard Meat, Ms. Irby served as Vice President and Human Resources Business Partner for Regions Bank in Dallas-Fort Worth. Her 14 years of experience in HR also includes Vice President positions at Comerica Bank and PlainsCapital Corporation in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Irby received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University, and her Masters Degree in Business Administration from University of Texas at Dallas.
